...but, WHY?

BEE CAUSE! That says it all. I realize I haven't promoted this spectacular event coming up the second Saturday in May, so here are some specs, and a bit-o-my honey (oh, the corn just happens naturally to some)!
In what may be the first event of its kind, honey bee research at the Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility, University of California, Davis, will benefit from a 12-county bee art show.
Area artists 18 and over are invited to submit their "bee-centric, bee-themed or bee-inspired" work to be exhibited at a one-day benefit art show on Saturday, May 8 in the open air courtyard in front of the Sacramento Bee, 2100 Q St.
Part of the proceeds from the art sales will benefit honey bee research at the Laidlaw facility, said coordinator and artist Laurelin Gilmore of Sacramento.
Participants should reside within the 12-county area of Sacramento, San Joaquin, Contra Costa, Solano, Yolo, Yuba, Nevada, Sutter, Placer, El Dorado, Amador and Calaveras.
Exciting, I told you! I've had the chance to look at the art of some of the other participants, and I have to say that it's going to be an honor to "bee" in this show along with them. Make sure you take time to check us all out! Not to mention that there is nothing like a second Saturday in May except one spent along Sacramento's Mid Town Grid!
OMG, and a huge hug to Ali for her sweet-as-honey comments left the other day! YOU are the bees knees girlie (i think you're a little partial though)!
